Eligibility Criteria for OIL India Merit Scholarship 2020

OIL Merit Scholarship will be awarded to 2 category of students:

1) Non OIL Employees’ Children Category: 
Students passing class X & class XII board examinations from Schools / Colleges located in oil operational areas of Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Charaideo districts (under Moran oilfield), Sivasagar districts (under Moran oilfield) of Assam and Namsai, Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

2) OIL Employees’ Children Category:
OIL employees’ children passing Class X & Class XII board examinations from Schools / Colleges across India.

Educational Qualification

1. Oil awards, 2020

a) Students securing 95% and above marks in Class X / Class XII board examinations ( viz SEBA, CBSE, CISE (ICSE & ISCE) & AHSEC) from Schools / Colleges located within oil operational areas and districts as mentioned above.

b) Oil employees’ children securing 95% and above marks in state / central board exams from anywhere in India.

2. Oil Merit Scholarship, 2020 ( Non-Oil Employee Children Category)


a) HSLC (RURAL)

Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 70 % (420) /General – 75% (450)

b) HSLC (Urban)

Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % (480) /General – 85% ( 510)

c) AISSE / ICSE –For candidates passing with 05 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % (400) /General – 85% (425)

d) AISSE / ICSE
 – For candidates passing with 06 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % (480) /General – 85% (510)

e) HSSLC / AISSCE / ISCE (ALL STREAMS) – For candidates passing with 05 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % (400) /General – 85% ( 425)

f) HSSLC / AISSCE / ISCE (ALL STREAMS) – For candidates passing with 06 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % (480) /General – 85% (510)

3. Oil Merit Scholarship, 2020 (Oil Employees’ Children Category)

a) CLASS X – State Boards / CBSE / CICSE / Other Board Examinations – For candidates passing with 05 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % ( 400) /General : 85% (425)

b) CLASS X – State Boards / CBSE / CICSE / Other Board Examinations – For candidates passing with 06 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % ( 480) /General – 85% ( 510)

c) CLASS XII – State Boards / CBSE / CISCE / Other Board Examinations – For candidates passing with 05 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % ( 400) /General – 85% ( 425)

d) CLASS XII 
– State Boards / CBSE / CISCE / Other Board Examinations – For candidates passing with 06 subjects
Reserve (SC,ST,OBC,MOBC,PWD): 80 % ( 480) /General – 85% ( 510)

Online Application

Students must apply online at https://oileservice.oilindia.in/oilaward available in the Announcement section of OIL Website www.oil-india.com.

  • SC / ST / OBC / MOBC/ candidate’s claim to belong to any of these categories without proper certification will not be entertained. Such candidates will be treated in General Caste category.
  • Students from BPL families should produce attested photocopy of BPL Ration Card issued to father or mother by State Govt. Certificate issued by any other agency OR other Ration Card issued by State Govt will not be accepted for this purpose.
  • Candidates are requested to open Bank Accounts in case they do not have an existing account before submitting application for OIL Award & OIL Merit Scholarship, 2020 and furnish bank details as desired. Candidates should be careful in furnishing bank details as scholarship amount will be credited to their BANK ACCOUNT/s. No request will be entertained for correction of Bank Details once application is submitted. Also, OIL will not be responsible for credit of scholarship amount to any other account due to faulty / wrong bank information.
  • Students are requested to furnish email id in the application format.

Important Documents

1) Scan copy of self-attested passport size photograph
2) Scan copy of self-attested mark sheet
3) Scan copy of self-attested pass certificate issued by board / council
4) Scan copy of caste certificate attested by gazetted officer / head of educational institute
5) Scan copy of bank passbook (1st page ) / cancelled cheque
6) Scan copy BPL ration card issued by govt ( for BPL candidates)
7) Scan copy of certificate from medical authority (for PWD students)
