OBC Scholarship 2024
The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, Assam, has issued the official notification for the Assam OBC Scholarship Scheme. These scholarships are centrally sponsored schemes offering Pre-Matric and Post-Matric scholarships for students in Assam belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC / MOBC) for the academic year 2023-2024. Eligible candidates who are interested can apply online for the OBC Scholarship Assam 2024 through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria of Assam Scholarship:
- Community: Only OBC Community Students are eligible to apply.
- Citizenship: Open to Indian nationals only.
- Family Restriction: Only two boys of the same parents/guardian are entitled to receive scholarships. This restriction does not apply to girls.
Income Ceiling: for OBC Scholarship 2024
- Pre-Matric (Class-IX & X) [Component-I] and Post-Matric Scholarship: Scholarships will be granted to OBC students whose parental/guardian’s income does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum. Income certificate should be obtained from the Circle Officer of respective Revenue Circle.
- Pre-Matric (Class I-X) [Component-II] Scholarship: No income bar for children of those Engaged in Occupation involving Cleaning and Prone to Health Hazards.
How to Apply?:
- Visit the official national scholarship portal https://scholarships.gov.in to submit the online application.
- Follow the steps provided on the website to register, fill in the application form, and upload the required documents.
- After completing the application, click on “Submit” and take a printout for your records.

- Bank Passbook
- Income Certificate
- Caste Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
Important Dates:
- Starting date of submission of online application: N/A
- Last date of submission/renewal of online application: 16th March 2024
- Last date of Defective Verification: 20th March 2024
- Last date of Institute Level Verification: 20th March 2024
Applicants should ensure that their bank account is active and linked with Aadhaar for successful scholarship disbursement.
